Blogger In Draft Design LogoBlogger today announced they have started the release of the New design Blogger Dashboard and User Interface Design. The release at first will be on Blogger In Draft, Quiet common for new releases but it will also be added to only some accounts at first .A random number of users will have the new Blogger dashboard from today when they log in via Blogger In Draft and over the next few days and weeks it will be added to more until all users have the new Dashboard in draft.Usually a new addition to blogger that is tested in draft finds its way on to the main blogger site within a week or two but a change this big could be longer.

The New Blogger Dashboard

New Blogger Design

If you are one of the lucky ones with the new dashboard you can click the option to make Blogger In Draft your default dashboard so you are using it every time you log in.

You can see more on the change on the Official Blogger Blog.

Define And Translate Within Your Blogger Post Editor

Another addition i have seen just today (Only In Blogger In Draft)is a new button in the Blogger Post Editor. The button in question give you the option to Translate and Define Words and Sentences within the post editor.Simply highlight the word or sentence then click the new button (Have you noticed it before?).

So i wrote the word Blogger, Highlighted it and Clicked the new button and i got the pop up shown below. You can see it defines the word, links to pages about it and the option is also there to translate it.Hopefully it will make it's way to the main blogger site soon also.

Blogger Post Editor Translate

You know i had no problem with the current dashboard until i seen the new one then i thought yeah the old one is rubbish should have been updated ages ago :).But it is a welcome change and it's great that we are now getting used to not only new additions but big additions to blogger on a regular basis.

If you are thinking what is all this Blogger In Draft Talk check out this post What Is Blogger In Draft ?, Have you got the new Dashboard Yet ?

  1. Thanks for the heads up on this Paul. I gave it a try but it still shows the original version. Guess I wasn't one of the early lucky ones.

  3. I am waiting for this exciting feature :)

  4. I have the "Define Words" icon on my dashboard. Anyone familiar with Chrome web browser will recognize it as being very similar to the Chrome dictionary extension powered by Google Dictionary. The extension is very fast and informative.

  6. I have Firefox, and also have the Define Words icon, for a while now. Still have the old dashboard for now.

  7. Blogger.com should have a serious consideration on its Comment section. Adding some Reply feature and smileys and... .

  10. Blogger's new design is a great improvement from the old one, and given Word Press' growing influence, this was a much needed change.

  11. I'm having troubles figuring out how to edit my original html code in this new blogger dashboard. None of my coding is in the template designer and when I click on revert to classic template, that has a really old old code in it. Have you figured this out yet? Perhaps I'm just blind. LOL

  12. @g33kinpink: The only way to edit your template - download the current design and work on it. Else, revert back to the old design. Just visit blogger.com/home instead of draft.blogger.com/home. You can edit your template there!!!

  13. I guess I'm one of the (un) lucky ones with the new dashboard. All I get is a totally blank page, can't even publish comments, nothing. I can access my blog and post new ones by googling my own blog address, but the dashboard is gone.

  14. the features I am supposed to have do not appear on my new dashboard. I can't make posts, because all of the things do not show up to click on. When I go on google chrome I don't know what to do. It's showing me how to make a new blog. Please tell me what to do. I want my old dashboard back. Please!!!!!!!!!!

  15. The new dashboard might be great but I am having trouble getting to my current dashboard. Previously, I would just enter "blogger" and it would take me there. I've tried other entries but nothing seems to work.
