Email subscriptions are an option every blogger simply must provide and there is one service that dominates Email Rss.The Google owned feedburner does it better that anyone else.In this post we are looking at how you can get the most from the Email Feed offered on your blog.If you have not got a Feedburner Feed or Email Feed check out How To Create A Feedburner Feed For Your Blog. This is a video post and in the video we will be covering the three main areas of your Email Feed and how you can optimize and personalize them.

The three areas we cover are

– Customize the confirmation Email users are sent when they first sign up.

– Customize the Email sent with your latest posts.

– Choose the time of day specific to your location the Emails are sent.

These are the snippets that can be added to your subject line when you have more than one post

${latestItemTitle} – Generates the title of the last post before Email is sent.
${n} – Generates the total number of posts in Email.
${m} – Generates the number of posts in the Email less one, this is for subject lines like “Latest Post Title Plus X More”.

${n} New Posts Including ${latestItemTitle} – If you had 5 posts and the latest was titled “How To Take Over The World” this would then be the subject line “5 New Post Including How To Take Over The World”.

  1. Great post. thx

  2. Hi Paul,
You’ve made it so simple to add the lightbox to Blogger.
Your youtube video is simply the best. I tried following some of the other “videos” and they were just plain annoying!!
    Thank you so much.

  3. I have been searching all over your site (Which I love and fanatically mine for blog gold) for a way to keep feedburner from sending out my entire post. I want one like yours that has the first bit and then a link to the blog. Do you have a tutorial on that I have missed? Any help would be appreciated.

  4. You can go to feedburner and use the summary burner option under the optimize tab, or on Blogger I use the settings > site feed and set to until jump break then add a jump break.

  5. Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I can’t believe I didn’t see that before, I had been searching all over feedburner for it. I hated that my whole post was going to their email and not driving traffic to my blog. Love the site, I don’t even need to go to another one.

  7. Can you get youtube videos, inside a post, from a blogspot site to be embedded into the feedburner emails?
