As always I’m on the look out for tips, Widgets and Gadgets to display your recent and popular posts and keep people on your blog. With a little help we can implemnt a few tricks to achieve this.
This widget is nice clean and simple and will scroll your recent posts across your blog taking up very little space.
You should check out how it looks :
Click Here To See A Live Demo
Once your cursor hovers over a post title it will stop scrolling so you can easily select the post you want.
I think it would be best placed above your posts like below :
So how do we add it to your blog
Step 1 :Copy the code below :
<a href=’http://www.spiceupyourblog.com’><img alt=’Best Blogger Tips’ src=’http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_rKG-ziTSNUQ/TQ5eV0U0EiI/AAAAAAAACik/xo2eFaDbfrE/s1600/best+blogger+tips.png’/></a><script style=”text/javascript” src=”http://flowerfall.googlecode.com/files/spiceupyourblogscroll.js”> </script><script style=”text/javascript”> var nMaxPosts = 15; var sBgColor; var nWidth; var nScrollDelay = 175; var sDirection=”left”; var sOpenLinkLocation=”N”; var sBulletChar=”•”; </script> <script style=”text/javascript” src=”http://spiceyourblog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=json-in-script&callback=RecentPostsScrollerv2″></script>
You Must Change My .Blogspot Adderss:
spiceyourblog.blogspot.com
To Your .Blogspot Address :
your-blog-address.blogspot.com
Step 2 :Click ‘Layout’ Then ‘Add A Gadget’ for your blog..
Step 3 :Choose Html/Javascript from the menu..
Step 4 :Once You Choose Html/Javascript you are provided with an area to place the code – paste in the code you have copied from above.
Options :
If you like you could write Recent posts above the gadget the post titles will scroll below
You can also change the (speed =175) (maxposts =15) (direction =left) (OpenLinkLocation=N)(BulletChar=•)
If you have expirence there is more you can edit if you want help changing anything leave a comment below
That’s it your recent posts scroll has been added.
Hi, I have have seen a similar scrolling gadget that welcomes all new followers. It is set to automatically pull from the follower list every time someone follows the blog. Is there a way to tweak this code to pull from the follower list instead of the recent posts? Thanks.

I have tried and tried but this still will not work on my blog. I still cannot get it to work. I followed your instructions, what is it that I might be missing? I added my blog name and address as instructed and after reading and rereading the code time and again I still can’t figure out why it will not work.
I like the idea, but it isn’t working for me on blogger.

@ Mitts – It must be conflicting with something else on your blog, unless you can figure out what mabye this one is not for you.

Oh gosh I hope you still read comments on older posts.
Thanks for this tutorial it was exactly what I needed, except now of course I would like to tweek this a bit more (I always do, sorry).
See I have a blog in the crafts and home decor niche, so my posts are always picture heavy. Therefor I have set my settings to maximize the number of posts to load at once to four. But alas that means that on my label page only four titles in the list are displayed too and then people have to go to ‘more posts’ is there a way to change the html, that on a label search page only, blogger will display a larger number of links?
Hope you get what I mean.
Thanks for a wonderful blog and an even better service you provide!

I added it and it just doesn’t work right. The names of the posts can be seen but they are scrolling sideways and there’s just this empty space above it.

@ Bard Girl – It could be effected by something else on the blog, some people seem to be having trouble with it.I’m afraid it might not be suited to your blog.
