Last month Blogger added some great new search options to help your blog be indexed and rank higher in search results on Google and other search engines.Two of the main options added are Meta descriptions, a full blog description and individual posts descriptions.In the video below we show you how to set up and add meta descriptions to your blog and posts.

Blog Meta Description - This is a description of your entire blog.You use this to describe your entire blog to search engines.

Posts Meta Description - This is a description added to every individual post on your blog.You use this to tell search engines what each post is about.

    I'm hoping you can help me. I've tried to reach out to others on the web, but I'm not getting a straight answer on this. I edited my robots.txt in blogger under the new search preference function/crawlers and acccess, but the change is not reflected in Webmaster Tools/Settings/Search Preferences/ Robots txt.

    I have 1706 URLs blocked on my site. Is that 1706 of my 1,844 blog posts? This is so frustrating. Thanks, jen

  32. Can Meta Tags only be single words or is there a way to add a phrase. I run a religious blog and my church is "church of Christ" but if I add church and Christ to my meta tags then it will miss my target audience because they are very popular terms in the Christian field. But when put together in that way, I reach my very specific audience.
