@ Manish - There is only one way to assure your blog is displayed ahead of the other and that to have better content.No tricks or special code, there are methods like this to optimize your blog then it all comes down to content.Google are really good at finding the best content, it's why they are number one so work hard :)

Thanks, but even if i add meta tags to each posts in blogger, it doesnt come right in SERPs. The description in google will contain posted by author at 9:00 am and so on and then only a little part of the description!

There is no problem with the head tag You may just have entered the code slightly wrong.
You need to be carefull and make sure the code is exactly as shown above.

For some reason the the code changed when i published the post,there is no end tag needed.

I have made changes to the code and tested it so it should work fine now.
