Well, this seems appropriate, my first ever comment on another's blog! Thank you very much. I'm trying to get our company's site up the ranks for search engine results - it seems to be increasingly difficult. It used to be that if you blogged regularly using keywords in the blog text that was enough. Not any more. Esp. with the arrival of Google Places - with the ads at the top then Google Places, the very top of the 'natural' listings now are are the bottom of page one. Tough going. I shall keep learning and I have found your information so very useful, THANK YOU (a big thank you). I'll be back for more tips...
Speaking of which, if I re-publish a blog with a few edits and a new date, does it count as a 'new' one (as far as the spiders go?). Also, when I looked how to sign this - and checked a few times, I wasn't sure so have put it as 'openID' with my URL there - is this right? Ahhh, all such a minefield for a newbie! It sidn't work so I've put my Google ID, but can't put my URL. Ahhh, because you're now 'no follow' I guess? In any event, thanks and all the best, Polly Harrison, Matt Wain Photography

Yeah I was wondering the same thing as PC Tricks, is OpenID a backlink? I guess having a link to your Blogger profile is better than nothing, at least it might creat a couple of page views. Thanks for the interesting article.
