In this post i will show you how to add a popular posts gadget to your blog in just one click !Almost all blogs have 'Recent Post' widgets and 'Related Post' widgets.
Why? These are to try keep visitors on your blog as they will see more interesting posts you have on the widgets.The longer the visitor stays on your blog the more likely they are to return,bookmark,follow and subscribe to your blogs Feed...All good.
So why a popular posts widget?
Well now the visitors to your blog will see a list of posts that have got the most 'Hits' so they are obviously the posts other visitors found most interesting so more chance new visitors will click...

I downloaded this widget and it only showed one "page", which was the homepage of my blog. It did not show the popular posts.

ReplyDeleteThe way this widget works is it tracks the page views of your individual posts.
The posts that get the most hits will then be the most popular posts.
So since you have just added the widget it has not picked up any hits yet.
So within the hour as your blog posts get some hits it will start listing the popular ones.
